Last night was an eventful night in Ravenwood MO! NEN received a grant for our school to become what is called an explorer school. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about all of this! The kids have learned so much already. Last night we were fortunate enough to be able to listen to Dr. Roger Crouch. I can only imagine the experience that he has had and only few will have in this lifetime. I truly was on the edge of my seat the whole time. What an amazing story he had. He was born color blind which kept him out of the space program/aviation of any kind. He finally got to go up as a scientist in 97 I believe. Very entertaining and I think this is just the beginning of AWESOME things to come for our school. I am sooooo psyched. The kids don't know how lucky they are and what an AWESOME thing this is. I was about Andy's age when the Challenger exploded in 86. I still remember that like it was yesterday. I did a report on it in school and still remember several details and all of the flight crew members names. It's sad but I had to Google the Columbia shuttle. I couldn't even remember the name of it. Isn't that something? Maybe I am getting old or maybe it was just more of a tragedy watching the Challenger tragedy unfold over and over again on tv.
