This was taken right outside our house. This tree is still standing believe it or not!

Taken from our front porch. My car was so iced over I didn't even want to get in it! It was hard to decide where to park it too! Any of the trees could fall down at any second. When I walked outside yesterday morning (the morning of the ice storm) I could hear trees falling EVERYWHERE! Very eerie! We were very fortunate that none of them fell on our house. Very odd cuz our house is surrounded by trees! It wouldn't take much to knock our house down. What a Christmas that would be!!!!

This was one of the trees outside my house.

Andy's first look at his bike! Pretty icey!!!!

This used to be a tree outside a church in Maryville.

Not sure where this was taken but WHAT A MESS!!!!!

If you look closely (very hard to see) but that little spec of blue is a car underneath that tree. Poor guy! He at least had a legitimate excuse for missing a couple days of work!!! LOLL

This was on a main road in Maryville (obviously blocked off). They were still down when we went into town this morning for supplies.
Last night, the kids and I were down at my Mom's playing the game of Life by candlelight when a guy knocked on our door and told us that they were collecting people to go stay at the fire station because it was expected to get very cold the next several nights. He also informed us that the power could be out for 3 more days. LUCKILY we were only out about 48 hours! They got us back up and running about 3pm today! WOOO-HOOOO! After our trip to town today, I laid down for a nap (gotta work tonight...oh and I was BORED TO DEATH!!!). I woke up about 3:30 and just closed my eyes again. I knew there was nothing better to do than to sleep. Then it occured to me that our heat was blowing. OUR POWER WAS BACK!!!!!!
Sooooooo it has been up for about an hour and a half now and the best news is that I CAN TAKE A SHOWER before I go to work! I was gonna call in again tonight because I couldn't shower! One of those things that happen that make you realize how fortunate you are to have all the luxeries that we do every day. Oh and one more thing.....I HAVE MY COMPUTER BACK!!!!!

Yikes! How awful for everyone! If the trees weren't so bent over, they'd look beautiful! That poor guy with the car...
